This wolf in grandma’s clothing is a delightful and fun bookmark to make. It would make a perfect combination to go with the Little Red Riding Hood bookmark that I designed earlier. (link text

The crochet stitches include, sc, hdc, dc, tr and sl st. It uses Front and Back post work on the dress. The pattern includes description of abbreviations and complete instructions. It also includes picture tutorials to help along the way.

It uses small amounts of crochet thread and any colors can be used so it is a great project to use up small amounts of crochet thread: 25 yards of body color such as copper mist, 52 yards of the main garment color such as cream, 24 yards of lace edging color such as dusty rose, and 6 yards of black for the book cover and features.

Boye Steel Crochet hook size 1 (2.25mm). This is a larger size hook than usually used with thread crochet. Size 1 hook gives the needed guage to make the correct size of wolf and makes working with thread crochet easier for those who are not comfortable with thread.

Other materials needed include:
Small amount of polyester fiberfill.
Tapestry needle
Boye Steel Crochet hook size 1 (2.25mm)
14 inches (35.6cm) Craft wire or beading wire (24 gauge) for making glasses
Washable fabric glue.

The pattern includes a picture tutorial for making the wolf’s reading glasses out of 24 guage beading or craft wire.
