These ‘wooden’ bowls get their look by holding together dark and light brown colored yarns. They are a simple design and easy to make. They are perfect to use for Waldorf Inspired children’s play and to use as trinket dishes around the house.

SKILL LEVEL
Easy

MATERIALS
Malabrigo Worsted 100% Merino Wool:
1 skein of each is more than enough to make all three bowls
Dark Earth & Praline (shown on cover)
Dark Earth & Olive (shown on page 2)
Size 4mm crochet hook
Tapestry Needle
Scissors
Felting Needle & Foam Block (optional)
Steam Iron & Form (such as similarly sized, heat safe glass bowl) to set shape (optional)

SIZES INCLUDED
Small: 3.5” wide
Medium: 4.5” wide
Large: 5.5” wide

Note: Any yarn can be used in place of those suggested in this pattern. If you substitute yarn, be sure to use a hook that is smaller than what would normally be used for your chosen yarn weight (to make sure the stitches are tight, and the bowls sturdy).
Also, needle felting works best on 100% non-superwash wool. If you decide to use my method of needle felting finishing, you’ll want to use yarn that will felt well.
