The woodland Gathering Hat is a fun hat to work up. It is made from the button and worked up towards the top of the hat. The base is a nice solid stitching to help hold the hat on but switches to a beautiful lacey/open stitching for the top. This stitching creates a fun stitch combination that you will enjoy working and seeing it come together is a delight.

Once the hat is made you have two choices. You can wear it as is for a fun slouchy look. Or, you can add a tie, gather it along the edge for a classic ruched look and a traditional beanie style.

The pattern comes in sizing for toddler, child, youth/ladies and adult/mens. You will used a finer worsted weight yarn, I love working with Lion Brand Heartland and a hook I (5.5mm).
