Finally a very “boyish” sweater and hat set! No buttons or closures to fuss with and no squishing baby’s head into a tiny neck opening either. The overlapping shawl collar opens wide for an oversized baby head, then bounces back into place to keep his chest and neck cozy.

The sweater is knit in the round from the bottom up, dividing for the fronts and back. Once the shoulders are joined, sleeves are picked up and knit downward in the round also. The collar is picked up along 3 sides then the edge is sewn in place along the center front.

The hat is made in the same stitch pattern as the sweater and written in two sizes.

Of course, this would also make a beautiful sweater for a little girl baby. Just change the color and overlap the collar the opposite direction.

Pattern includes written instructions and charts.
