Yavanna is a sock inspired by Tolkien’s mythology. Yavanna is one of the Valar (gods and goddesses), and she is responsible for the green and growing things. She is the one who created the Two Trees, whose light kept the heavens lit. The socks are designed with those trees in mind, and look great in a light-colored solid yarn.

I recommend 375-400 yds of a solid colored yarn. A few of the test knitters tried a tonal or light variegated, and they confirm that a solid color really is necessary.

You’ll need a cable needle, or the ability to cable without a needle, and the main pattern is completely charted.

I hope you enjoy it!
