Welcome to the eight pattern of Year of Meditation! This design is for Yule, which is usually December 21. Beginning the socks at Samhain should allow enough time to complete your project and have the chance to wear your socks while enjoying a hot drink on Yule . Included is a mini-magazine with a recipe, information about ravens, and a meditation.

This is a wonderfully simple design of simple lace diagonals that have enough repetition to be meditative while still keeping your interest to the end. The design represents the the wings of the raven bringing messages from the world of mystery. It would look great with tonal, gradient and handspun.

You’ll need a skein of sock yarn (between 275-375 yards, depending on the size and length you make) and your favorite sock needles (I prefer using the “Magic Loop” method of knitting socks). You also might like to have handy your favorite mug of coffee or tea, a bouquet of flowers, or even a happy song list playing in the background.

The sample was knit with Cauldron’s Path Yarns Full Moon in Longer Nights and used 275 yards.

Notions:
Needles used in sample: US 1 (2.25 mm)
Tapestry needle (to weave in ends)
