This pattern is great for the beginner with some experience, or the knitter looking to try cables. While there are no traditional cables in this cowl, traveling stitches are used. And knitting in the round allows you to develop a nice rhythm and flow while knitting this Zig Zag Cowl.

I used leftward traveling stitches, and then rightward traveling stitches. And I changed the direction at shorter intervals towards the end (bottom) of the cowl before changing to stockinette.
