On this occasion Susan merges her combined love of vintage knitting with colourwork designs to bring you 25 vintage colourwork patterns from the 1920s to the 1950s all updated and multi-sized, with all garment patterns sized from 28-60 inch (70-155 cm) chest.
Susan has selected 25 knitting patterns from her own archive of vintage knitting patterns to offer a wide range of beautiful, wearable colourwork pieces; the majority of the patterns chosen are garments with a small selection of essential colourwork accessories included. Susan has chosen a combination of sweaters, cardigans, vests and more, with some well-known pieces amongst them.
All patterns will include full colour charts for colourwork sections with a separate chart for each size. Every design will also include a clear schematic. Patterns will be updated to be knit in the round and will include steeks where appropriate and the original pattern will also be included. The hardback book will include a techniques section for the colourwork techniques features in the book and will be accompanied by a selection of essays written by Susan focussing on the period or the style reflected in the knitted pieces.
In A Stitch in Time Vol 3 - The Colourwork Edition, Susan builds on her experience writing The Vintage Shetland Project and, more recently, Evolution, to bring you a timeless volume of exquisite projects and clear, well-written patterns.
The designs will be modelled on a variety of models including Susan to show just how wearable these vintage pieces can be.
This book is a celebration of Susan’s combined love of vintage and colourwork and shows us why Susan is renowned for her ‘vintage’ knitting knowledge.
