I love these mittens, they are extra long to make sure there are no gaps between sleeve and mitten to let the cold or snow in, and the colours are so perfectly ‘winter’ yet still bright and cheerful!

I bought two big skeins of fisherman’s wool to play with dying. half of the first skein went to my chevron beret, and I enjoyed the color variations so much I dyed the other half in teal. I had plenty of the blue/purple left over so I decided to throw a band of it in these mittens. I still have quite a bit of the teal, and about 10 grams of the purple left, so I think I’m going to make a matching tam.

after some careful weighing I used about 45 grams of white, 40 grams of the blue green, and 4 grams of the purple.
