Off to a bit of a bumpy start - made the mistake of not counting my stitches after every round and had to frog 3 1/2 rounds … so early on - a good lesson learnt!
I didn’t like the initial order of my colours so started again … again!
Here we go, part 1 is done and will make sure I count after every round :D

At the end of round 2. I’m really enjoying the challenge but definitely feel I could benefit from more experience before embarking on this journey. I’m learning so much already and each round makes me better at counting and identifying my stitches.
Will start to introduce the remaining unused colours over the next few rounds.

In to Round 3 now and have just done my first row of popcorn stitches - love the look of them and they weren’t that hard to do. Spent a couple of hours at the beginning recounting stitches and re-did rows 16 and 17 to fix up some missed stitches.
Starting to get the other colours in now.

Added two new colours but I am not sure I chose right. I think I will pull the last two rows and change the lime to a different green - probably the sage, then save the lime for something else. Watch this space!

Made some great progress tonight. Part way through round 21 and surprisingly enough my stitch-count is spot on!

Approaching the end of Round 3. Obviously each row is taking longer now, but it gives me more time to contemplate my colour choices :)

Round 3 done and dusted. The crab stitch around row 25 was a new experience for me. I didn’t enjoy it, but it wasn’t as bad as what I was expecting.
About to turn the corner (yes bad pun I know!) and move from a circle to a square.

Progress has started to slow a little, but I’m really pleased with how it is all turning out. Up to Round 4 Row 30. Have brought in a new colour, terracotta.

Phew! The last few rounds have been a real struggle for me. I had to undo the last 4 rounds - made a mistake somewhere in row 27 but managed to not realise it until row 30! That will teach me not to count after every row.
So here I am back in row 31 - but this time the stitch count is 100% on :)

Round 4 is completed. I’ve chosen to do the optional flower petals and I’m really glad I did, they look really lovely and stand right out.
Now the long haul begins and I can’t wait!

well well well … everything seemed to be going so well and then I saw it … a fbdc was in the wrong spot… about 7 rows back :(
I couldn’t in good faith keep going knowing it was there. Time to frog it. It was disappointing to have to do it, but I know I would never be happy if I left it.
Tonight I got about half-way through Round 41 - the purple petals that match the ones from round 13.

I’m really starting to struggle now. I’m on round 43, have done many re-do’s of 41 through 43.
I thought I had overcome the curse that had plagued me since discovering the misplaced fbdc but alas something is still not right. Will take it along with me today to my crochet mentor Jenny for guidance.
Onwards and upwards!

With Christmas and New Year I haven’t had as much time as I would like to crochet. I had an opportunity today to spend a bit of time with Sophie and have now finished Part 5.
It now measures 60cm / 24in.
