Notes

Nov. 28th. I am done designing and wrote out the pattern and published it today!! yahoo!! It can be found here if you are interested.

I am designing this one to be knit from the bottom tip up. I am also using 2 colours of the Venus, Black and Slate. I suspect I will only need the 2 balls to complete this.

Fringe isn’t going to work on this because of the light airy mohairy thing so I may decide to knit on an edging. Beads are an option for the edging as well….We’ll see?

Oct. 5thI’m making pattern notes here so I’ll remember….age thing! I am currently on tier 13 and the tip to neck edge is 24 inches…

I am gonna try to design this so it is bound off at the center neck. I’d love it to have shoulder shaping and continue so that shawl pins and throwing it over your shoulders works better than a plain triangle shape. …but how? I think I have a few tiers to go before figuring out how to do this(30” might be a good goal?)…..May be a shawl collar? That would be cozy…

This is tough to figure out because I can’t just try it and frog. If I am not correct in my calculations frogging this material is prit near impossible.

Oct. 10 Well it is almost complete. I should have beaded the whole edge as it has NO drape, NO weight. Might have to add beads by hand after the fact. Can’t frog the edging in the back now! Darn Mohair!

Still think I will make a collar, short rows?, and do the front edging. (beaded!) Man this is gonna eat beads!!!

Did a chart for the beading and general layout this morning.

Later today: I decided that I have to bead the sides. I just kinda hangs there so I need to bead it. Not quite as heavy beading as I did on the bottom front panels but some.

Oct 12th. She is complete and is beautiful:-)
I like the way it hangs and won’t blow off with the next breeze! I decided to go without a collar ..Mohair directly on the back of the neck might drive me insane and limit how I wear it..

Now I want to make this again…entrelac is so addicting, but with a heavier, more drapey yarn.

Pattern to follow soon….Going on holidays here in 2 days so maybe when I get back.
