8/11/11, just found these at the bottom of a ufo basket. I’m guessing start date. First sock was done, second sock is 1/3 done. Toe up, 3 X 1 rib, on instep and leg, fleegle heel.
2.00mm needles, 9 spi, foot knitted 6” after toe inc before starting heel inc, leg knitted 7.5” after heel is completed, then 2 X2 cuff knitted 2”.*
BO is stretchy, I’m guessing the sewn bind off, but I just don’t remember
10/07/11 I have no idea why it took me so long to finish these socks! I’m glad they’re finally done. I was tired of working on this dark, yarn. Gauge seems to tight for this weight of yarn. I think it’s a heavy fingering. Not ideal for 2.00 mm needles
Socks still feel baggy, like my first toe ups. Need to co less. I’m going to try top down next. I love sock yarn to much to give up on sock knitting. I have to find the perfect fit for me,.
I did Jenny’s stretchy bind off on the second sock.
ETA: I think I know why they feel so “baggy”. The leg, including the cuff is at about 10” unstretched, (without pulling them on). Since I have sizeable calfs, if I’m going to make socks this long, I need to do some calf shaping. The next ones, I think I’m going to make the leg shorter. They fit my husband great. Yayyy!!!
