Notes

I’ve made three for family/friends, now I want one. :) The question is, what yarn? Maybe the red variegated mill end yarn I bought on a whim a while ago. That would allow it to be nice and big since I have four 100g skeins. But would the variegated take away from the lacy design? Hmmm….

Starting foundation sc of 280 (with a 3.5mm hook). I’ve started this now because I want to have the first few rows done before my Charleston trip so I can work on it in the airport/airplane but not have to deal with the super fiddly beginning part.

I did twist the chain, which wasn’t obvious until I had done the second round of double crochets. All untwisted and redone now.

This sock yarn (whatever it is) is quite pretty though not soft at all.

I finished the first two parts of this pattern on my trip. It was nice having a small project in my bag to amuse me during the flights.

This is such an excellent pattern. Even though I was tired and distracted while working on it, every time I counted stitches I was right on.

The picture with the phone was taken by the college kid in the next seat on the plane who used Snapchat to add a filter showing what speed we were going. His comment was, “Wow, you’re a fast knitter!”

Sadly, I took this on the second trip in June, only to leave my new skein of yarn at home, which meant I only got a few rounds into part 3. I was also working from the chart, which made me mistakingly do DC on round 21 instead of HDC, so this is definitely not perfect. I’m only just finishing round 22, but I don’t feel like frogging so I’ll just carry on.

I took this with me when I brought C and her high school friends to Six Flags. It’s 1 1/2 hours away, and I didn’t feel like being the lone grown-up with them, so I amused myself while they spent the day in the amusement park and finished this at Starbucks and a park (I also caught a lot of Pokémon).

When I showed it to C she loved it so of course I said she could have it :) I guess I’ll just have to make another one in blue! (By the way, the !Me in the title is nerd-speak for “Not Me” since in programming languages, the ! is a negator.)
