My first Tunisian project.

I was looking for a Tunisian project because I read in a crochet book by Pauline Turner that it can be done with one hand. I’d just heard that I needed a shoulder operation and would be in a sling for about 5 weeks.

Had to get the hang of Tunisian first so did some samples, then started on this with a 8mm hook, but that was too loose with DK yarn, after discussing it in the Tunisian crochet group I went down to 6mm for the knit stitch part and 6.5mm for the looser part.

Turns out that using 6.5mm for the loose part was a bad idea, it got wider and (perhaps due to the forward and return pass nature of tunisian?) it was all sticking out to one side. Forgot to take a pic before frogging but back on track now with 6mm.

April 24: after shoulder operation I continued one handed, using a small dremel vice to hold the hook. It was slow going at first but I’m getting pretty good at it. Done about 20 rows since the operation. Made a little video of me doing some Tdc stitches with one hand. and another in close up

May 3: Finished! Made a mistake in the 5th group of TDCs, did 3 rows instead of 4 and discovered it too late so made the middle 3-4-5-4-3 TDC rows, which added 3 groups to the total. Did 87 out of 127 rows one-handed.
