love the yarn with this pattern. gorgeous stitch definition, and typical madtosh squishiness. HOWEVER: I always handwashed the socks, let them air dry, and wore them maybe 6 times before the heel wore through (see the bottom photo). I will never again use tosh sock to make socks. I wore them around the house exclusively, not in shoes (except once I wore them with my Converse sneakers). Six wearings, and the heels were shot.

FINALLY! It took me just over a month to make this, how awful. But I did ~6 rows each weekday to/from work, and never got any other time to work on them. I love them, the pattern is way cool, fun to do even if you don’t quite know how it’s going to work. ESPECIALLY if you don’t quite know how it’s going to work. Just trust Cookie, and get the errata.
