Notes

I’m making this shawl for my 2nd daughter to wear after her wedding. I’m making her dress, too - a grass-green linen dress, vintage 1950s. She’s an unusual and wonderful person. It’ll be outdoors, at sunset, in southwest Wisconsin in July.

And….she graduated from Smith College, in Northampton, so I bought the yarn from Webs. Right now I’m just waiting for the yarn to arrive…..

2.7.10: cast on and knit 6 rows. it’s going to be SO BEAUTIFUL. i love the feeling of knitting a family heirloom.

7.5.10: the photos are of the shawl in progress…. definitely not blocked, just pinned out so i could see it.

7.12.10: The wedding is this Saturday, and I just finished grafting the panels together. HALLELUJAH! Blocking next, photos when finished.

Wedding post here, with a few pictures. It was WAY too steamy hot for the shawl, but I made her dress, too, so you can check that out. She threw the shawl over her shoulders when she signed the wedding certificate - post here.
