I’ve wanted to knit this shawl for a very, very long time. :) I finally could afford the pattern and had the right yarn (on sale!). (ETA: The colour in the second photo from the bottom is the closest match.)

The yarn I’m using, though it’s exactly the right colour, is a bit scritchy. I think I will probably knit it again in softer yarn if I like it.

Hopefully its completion will coincide with Hannah (aka CitrusGirrl) finishing my corset, so I can be the steampunk QUEEN!

Phew, just reached the end of section A. I think the rest should be a bit less challenging, because I know what to expect a bit more from all these lace knitting techniques that I’ve never used before.

Yes, this is my first lace project, and YES, I am very ambitious!

Just started section G, the penultimate section. I was getting so fed up of the not-very-soft yarn, and mentioned to Annie that I’d quite like to just undo it all and turn it into crocheted shopping bags! She spurred me on though, by pointing out that I can just cast off a little early and if I don’t want to wear it I can always sell it on. Hurrah!

Just unpinned it from blocking on my bed - it took longer to dry than I expected so I slept in the living room. What’s that about knitting being like marriage, you say?

I ran out of yarn, so I just cast off where I was, and even though it doesn’t fit the pattern, it made nice points when I was pinning it out. So, I’m happy!

This is the longest project that’s not potentially infinitely big that I’ve ever done. I’ll tell you this for nothing, I am very glad to get the needles and cables available again, 4mm is a damn useful size.
