I got my idea for this blanket from coexistlove’s project! I love how her’s is coming along, so I figured that I’d gather up all my piddley stash, put it in a box, and cast on.

I underestimated my piddley stash.

I love how it’s looking so far, although the DBF says it looks like a grandma blanket. Oh well… come wintertime, I know I’ll be warm!

Now that it’s finished, I LOVE it! It’s a little weird, but I like it that way. My friend Julie named it “Public School” because all of the different colors and fibers are just stuck right next to each other. And yet, it works… somehow.

Here’s my exact pattern:

CO 267 sts (or multiple of 17+12)
Row 1 -- Knit
Row 2 -- Purl
Row 3 -- K2tog three times, (yo, K1) 5 times, yo, k2tog three times
Row 4 -- Knit

I maintained a 6 st garter stitch border on each side, slipping the first stitch of every row.

USE STITCH MARKERS. Just do it.
