I love this hat. The fact that it’s the very best purple, and it has a MASSIVE pompom are reasons enough, but add in the awesome smocking pattern? Awesome hat is the result!

The hat itself took slightly less than a full skein, and then the pompom took a bunch.

I made this ages ago, so I don’t really remember any modifications I made.

Oh, I did change the st count so that the first repeat of the smocked pattern would be symmetrical on both sides, but that was pretty easy to do.
