This crazy shawl! I have so much to say about this shawl.

I love this colour, and knit it into this shawl, with a nice purple. Never got used because it turns out I don’t really like half circle shawls very much (or at least not the wee little ones. Too bib-like)

That shawl got washed and blocked, and the water was VERY purple. Didn’t think anything of it (because seriously, how on earth could a cold water soak set run-off dye. omg)

Anyway, ripped that out, and cast on for this. Got about halfway through the final edging when I ran out of ‘frogged yarn’ and had to use the original leftovers. Very noticeable difference. Like, I was binding it off at the dentist, and the friendly staff (who know very little about yarn) noticed the difference in colours. D:

I soaked the new shawl, hoping that magically the unwanted dye would…. go away. Because reasons. Did not work at all.

So at the suggestion of smart mum, I filled up a bowl with warm water, dunked the left over purple yarn in it to get a nice dark purple water. I used this and painted just the un-changed yarn on the edge.

It’s not perfect, but it is HUGELY better.

The last picture shows the difference as it was before fixing (as well as the re-block picture, but you can’t see it very well). All the rest are after purple-ing the edge.
