Notes

i have wanted to make this for a very long time. I learned that making something large out of #30 thread is not like making an average size doily.

Issues that i had never had to think about before were:

  1. keeping it clean. i took it every where with me and i should have protected it better.

  2. maintaining the same tension on such a large item. i put it down numerous times to make other items that jumped in priority. hard to put something down and keep the same tension over time.

  3. you really gotta feel the mojo for making a large item like this. you just gotta love it!

pre-blocked
side to side 26 in / 66 cm
tip to tip 33 in / 83.8 cm

post-blocked
side to side 33 in / 83.8 cm
tip to tip 37 in / 94 cm

I finally found a permanent ‘home’ for this piece to be displayed and used in my home. i discovered that it fit the top of a small end table/book shelf. the triangle tips dangle in the front/back of the table and the main part fits perfectly across the top of the rectangular shaped table.

i am pleased as punch!
