Notes

Leftovers from butterflies, Ishav and a batch of yarn originally bought for Ishav and then deemed to light in color. I planed on doing something ombre like, but ended up with a color block design.

The numbers are loosely based on Ann Budds book, but primarily they are based on Ishav, and then reduced for a slimmer fit.

The first attempt looks too wide in the back. I am ripping to the last increase round and skipping it, so the total circumference will be 312 sts.

I have made a miscalculation at some point - the sleeves are to short when they have the same amount of repeats as the body. I should have known this, though I thought I had included it in the calculations. Considering if I will rip the sleeves or just add a couple extra sections of the last color. Pretty annoying!

Inspired by;
Julida’s Coffe and Cream
Olgajazzy’s Contiguous Ombré Cardigan

A kind-of-pattern/notes for myself;

Throughout the sweater; Knit 14 rows of background color, 3 rows of contrast color. Switch contrast and background to one shade lighter after 3 repeats.

CO 100 sts with provisional cast on.
K 2 rounds
k2, m1 - 150 sts
K 9 rounds
k3, m1 (+ 1 extra increase) - 200 sts
K 10 rounds
k4, m1 - 250 sts
K 11 rounds
k4, m1 - 312 sts
K 15 rounds - you have knit 3 repeats with dark blue background + the first stripe in lighter contrast yarn. Divide for sleeves;

Sleeves; 61 sts
Front; 110 sts
Back; 80 sts
CO under arms; 11 sts

After dividing for sleeves, knit 17 rows, then decrease 2 stitches under each arm every 7th row for a total of 6 times.
Then knit 12 rows, before increasing 2 stitches under each arm every 9th row for a total of 3 times.

After the last light blue color block, k2p2 for 5 rows, BO.

Directions for sleeves;
Pick up sleeve stitches and 15 sts from the body. On next row decrease 2 sts on each side.
K 4 rows
decrease 2 sts under the sleeve every nine rounds (knit 8 rounds, 1 decrease round) for a total of eleven rounds - 50 sts.
Keep knitting until there are 5 repeats of the lightest color. Knit 2-by-2 rib for 8 rounds. Bind off in rib.

Directions for neck opening:
Pick up provisional stitches, knit 1 round
Shortrows; From the start of round (behind right shoulder) knit 13, place marker (centre back). Shortrows from centre back: 13, 23, 33, 43
Switch to 3 mm, knit 1 round, knit 2-by-2 rib for 5 rounds, bind of in knit.
