Notes

THURSDAY: The yarn arrived today so after supper I decided to cast on and try it out.

The pattern is very simple and very easy to follow - the thick yarn means it works up very quickly (In a little over an hour, I’ve watched a drama on TV and made the head and first ear.)

I’m used to knitting things like this in the round, so knitting it flat seems a bit odd - I hope that the seams will be sufficiently invisible and the K3tog shaping in the face is a bit obvious so I’m hoping that won’t put me off the finished item, but apart from that, this seems like a very enjoyable knit. The yarn is a real surprise - it’s 50/50 wool/acrylic and is very soft and slightly fluffy with very little twist, I think it was a really lucky substitution as (a) it was super cheap in the Deramores sale online and I hadn’t seen it irl at all and (b) I don’t much like the knit effect of the suggested yarn and I think this will make a nicer bunny. I just hope it’s hard wearing enough for a toy.
