Hook Destroyer! - 27Feb2016

Have been doing pretty well at this pattern, but today found myself defeated! I was using a plastic 3mm hook and it snapped halfway through round 24. :(

Couldn’t find a replacement 3mm hook at any of the stores I went to, so going to have to continue with a 3.25mm instead. Hopefully it won’t make too much of a noticeable difference. :/

All done! He’s so adorable. In the end I used 12mm eyes rather than the 6mm or 9mm the pattern called for.

There were some weird things about the pattern… None of the legs have the same instructions, for example, and the front legs have fewer stitches than the back legs, rather than all four being roughly the same (though in the end it’s not very noticeable). I think if I make this elephant again I might try to “even” things out just to see how it goes. :)
