Notes

The fully written and updated version of the pattern, called The Allsorts Blanket, is now available here - https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/the-allsorts-bla...

To show how versatile my Tooty Stripey Blanket Pattern is, I decided to make it in an adult size. (Click the pattern link above )
I’ve chosen Stylecraft Special DK as I’ve used it before as it’s lovely to work with and have opted to follow Lucy of Attic24’s colour theory and have gone for her original colour pack (see Wool Warehouse). I’m even going to use them in the same order as her original granny stripe blanket.
There are 17 colours, as follows -

1003 - Aster (100g)
1019 - Cloud Blue (100g)
1034 - Sherbert (100g)
1061 - Plum (100g)
1065 - Meadow (100g)
1068 - Turquoise (100g)
1081 - Saffron (100g)
1083 - Pomegranate (100g)
1084 - Magenta (100g)
1132 - Shrimp (100g)
1188 - Lavender (100g)
1241 - Fondant (100g)
1246 - Lipstick (100g)
1316 - Spring Green (100g)
1390 - Clematis (100g)
1422 - Aspen (100g)
1432 - Wisteria (100g)

I’m going to make a starting foundation treble row of 216 plus 2 end stitches, whioch I hope will give me a width of 50 inches before I add a border.

You’ll be able to follow it’s progress on my blog and on Instagram if you want to.

:-)

PS Lucy is using her original colour pack again to make her Harmony Blanket at the moment (Summer 2017), so I’m calling my blanket Tooty Harmony in honour of her!!

WHOA!!!! Those colour changes Lucy - they’re amazing!!
I would never have put some of these colours next to each other but boy, do they sizzle!

I’m about half way up the length of my blanket and have decided to stop at row 76 of my Tooty Stripey Pattern and start again at row 1. If I go right to the end of the pattern before starting it again, I realised I would have 2 tows of popcorns quite close together.

There have been times I’ve added rows - when there are granny rows for instance, instead of working 4 rows I might have worked 8. If you do add rows, make sure you add an even number to keep the next textured row on the correct side.

I’ve decided to “finish” my blanket - for now at least. It measures approx 54” X 38”, so is plenty big enough to snuggle under - just not big enough for the bed!
Plus I’m desperate to make something with different colours!
I’ve washed and tumble dried it and it went all soft and lovely!
I haven’t done anything to the short sides yet but they might get an edging of some sort.

EDIT: Several months of snuggling under my blanket later, I decided to add a very simple edging. The short edges had a row of trebles in plum, to match the first and last rows. Then I used pomegranate to work 3 rows of trebles all the way round, turning on each row.
