I had a good bit of yarn left over from the 10-pack I got for my “Storm Front” pullover, and I can never make too many cute little presents for my best friend’s baby, sooo… ;D

I’m super glad I learned the “knit on” cast-on. It makes the CO at the back of the neck look so much prettier.

A mother of two girls gave me the following advice: there should be a possibility to fix the poncho under the arms, or it will end up all over the place. So I’m definitely adding some cords or ribbons for optional securing. :)

Ran out of yarn after I’d finished the body. Let’s see what I can find for the hood and pocket…

Used about 2 1/2 balls of the blue/grey/white colourway for the body, then got 2 more balls of the turquoise/yellow/purple colourway for the hood and pocket (since this yarn has been discontinued and I’d bought the last multipack of the blue/grey/white for my pullover). Since I realized I’d have more than enough, I more or less separated the mostly turquoise and mostly yellow bits so the poncho wouldn’t become too chaotic.

Hood increases: k3, k1 into the bar between sts, repeat till the end of the row, k2 remaining sts.
Ended up with 50 sts instead of 48, but that’s okay.
The increasing method resulted in little holes, spaced at regular intervals. If you want to avoid holes, use kfb.
