errata: The instructions for the neck and wrist bands are incorrect.

What is written: “Working back and forth, beg with a WS row and work 9 rows of st st, then C OFF loosely. Fold neckband to inside along middle of band and sew loosely to WS”. The wrist and button bands are to be “work(ed) in the same manner as neckband”.

This leaves a VERY narrow band which resembles I-Cord, not the wider bands pictured in the finished product.

To get the wider bands, I knit 9 rows of stockinette (beginning on the WS), purled one row to create a turning row, then knit 9 more rows of stockinette. I cast off and sewed the bands down per the instructions.

Otherwise I knit as written, although I used three colors instead of two.

Used one of my mother’s old steel crochet hooks for the button loops. It says “Boye 7” … whatever that is in today’s hook sizes, it’s teensy. (See photo … that’s a grain of rice provided for scale.)
