My son was born in the year of the snake, so I figured I’d knit him a relatively toddler-safe (no button eyes to be choked on) toy snake to play with to deter him from stealing daddy’s belts all the time.

The name comes from a famous Japanese cryptid known as the tsuchinoko, which actually has a bounty set for its capture.
