April 24, 2014: I simply LOVE the fit! I made the arms shorter and skinnier to really match the current fashion. This is so easy to do with drop sleeves because you can change the width all you want without having to change the body at all.

I was worried that the body would be too big, but the laceweight yarn makes a fabulous drape. It’s a tunic but it never shows all the yucky bumps from your jeans and tights!

And yes, I sort of picked these colors just to match my boots. ;)

March 23, 2014: This takes a VERY long time to knit. If you are interested in this pattern, be prepared! The pieces are very large, I included a pictures of Madonna blocking next to a fitted pullover, what a difference.

PRO TIP: Use the ends from the stripes to sew your seam! This is a very lacy fabric and I didn’t want the wrong color to show in each stripe. Using an end means you have one less end to weave in and the colors match perfectly. I am using mattress stitch and it is looking quite lovely.

I don’t do neutral tones (maybe I should though, lol!).

  1. The Cotton Glacé stripes called for in the pattern are a bit odd, as they are one row of purl on the right side. This means that it looks messy because it integrates purl bumps of the previous color of Kidsilk Haze. In the neutral tones that doesn’t matter, but coming after a dark color, it really shows. I have fixed this by doing a knit row on the RS, then a purl row (to give texture).

  2. However, after the long yarn-over stitches (orange), I did only the purl row, because the color of yarn was light enough.

  3. You break the yarn after all of these stripes. What this means is that you can actually start the row from any side you want. It really doesn’t matter where you just cut your yarn, you could just attach it on the other side… meaning that you can change the number of rows per stripe to achieve the look you want. For instance, I liked having 2 st st rows before the cool “O” stitch, instead of one.

  4. This is going to take forever, yo! US2/2.75 and 44 inches around, yikes!
