8/6/14 : Two things…

  1. I finished the bunny’s face and I adore it.
  2. After finishing the face, I realized that this bunny is definitely a girl bunny and not a boy bunny. So… meet Pumpkin! I figured the name to be fitting since she’s big and round like a pumpkin and will be gifted to my daughter in October :)

8/5/14 - part two : After looking at him more and taking pictures, I definitely think he needs a face. But I’m liking his ears without the pink. I’ll take more pictures after I’ve done his face. I want to find just the right buttons for his eyes so he doesn’t look creepy (it’s hard on dark yarn!) and I’ll find some pink embroidery thread for his mouth.

8/5/14 - part one : Bunny’s done! Well, pretty much. I didn’t add a face or the pink in the ears because I’m debating on whether or not I want him to have a face and pink ears. I kind of like him the way he is. Maybe I’ll add that later…

This was my first time getting to use the kitchener stitch and I love it!! It looks great.

I’m so glad I omitted the 3 rows in the bottom, it turned out perfectly. Plus, I had less than TWO yards of yarn left when I was finished. YIKES. I was so nervous knitting the last rows of the right ear.

8/4/14 : This is turning out to be a very quick and easy knit! The bottom was a little tight and I didn’t enjoy knitting it, but that’s not a big deal and I’m now 15 rows into the body.

When looking through everyone’s projects on here, I really wasn’t liking how a lot of the bunny bodies had the bottom creeping up the sides, so I omitted 3 of the last 6 purl rows of the bottom and I’m hoping to avoid that a little. We’ll see how it turns out once it’s stuffed!

Pretty sure my gauge is spot on (I’ll have to double check - it wasn’t important to me since it’s a toy and doesn’t have to “fit” someone). Started with the DPNs as instructed and switched to my circulars 3 rows early since I’m using 16” circulars.
