Playing with some Unicorn Tails… :)

It turned out to be a lightweight, fitted beanie. I completed it with just the four Unicorn Tails. Will post more photos in the daylight!

I’m working on writing up the pattern and experimenting with different gauges to be sure that the fit is just right.

Struggling with choosing a name for the pattern. My family is in on the process and came up with the following (on a veeerrry long car ride):
Counting Crows
Birdaceous
What the Flock! (WTF)
Cloche Encounters of the Bird Kind

I’ve decided to stick with Passerine Hat, haha.

A few notes about the design - some parts of the stranded segment have long floats - I had to be very conscious of keeping these floats loose so that the hat remains stretchy and not too tight.

Wet blocking helped with tension tremendously! I used a balloon as the form because it was easy to adjust to the desired size and the right amount of tension…
