Notes

This was a fast knit and very easy (it is knit flat). I love the gloves! The buttons are vintage grey bakelite that I bought from an antique seller.

This aran yarn makes very warm gloves, probably best saved for late Autumn / winter. And it is lovely and soft, as you would expect from cashmere.

I made a small amendment to the pattern. The instructions tell you to pick up the button band stitches on the side furthest from the thumb hole, which places the buttons dead centre along your hand and with a button flap that faces inwards towards the other hand. I wanted my button band to be off centre and facing outwards, so I picked up the stitches on the side closest to the thumb hole. (I noticed on the projects page that a few others had also chosen to do this)

This pattern used a tiny fraction more than one ball of each colour. (I needed a second ball of each to cover about 4 or 5 rows before binding off… I think you could do it with with 1 ball of each and possibly skip a stripe)
