12/14- all done! took some pics today. got our gorgeous tree in there. yay!

used ysolda teague’s garter mitts as a base, and added details from throughtheloops buttoned mitts.

better get some of these notes down before i forget… the gauge is the same, thank goodness. so i cast on as usual, and did the first bit as the pattern calls for. but i added a couple of repeats before doing the short row thumb, and just tried it on periodically until it stretched across my palm (three extra, i think?).

i did the thumb as called for.

one garter ridge after the thumb, i added four more stitches to the hand section. from the top edge, it goes 4 garter sts, make 1 purl, knit 6, make 1 purl, purl 1, knit 6, make 1 purl, purl 1, knit 6, make 1 purl, marker, and garter down the wrist. i did a 6st cable every 7th row, and did 4 w+t repeats for the front of the hand. decreased the four sts i made at the beginning of the cabled section, then 3 garter ridges, (k2tog, yo) buttonholes (six buttonholes at 6 sts apart, with 3 sts at each edge), and 3 more garter ridges.

11/21- finished the knitting portion… now for the weaving in of ends, buttons, blocking, etc.
