While riding in a car, my toddler-daughter likes to cover her laps with blankets in the mornings.
That’s how this lap Shawlette or lap-Blanket was born.
Totally made up as I knitted it.
I started from a center, 8 sts on 5 DPNs and gradually insreased.
I liked watching all the colors change as I knitted on.
In the end, I added some lace edging to give the lap blanket some personality.
The size 33” x 33” / 84x84cm and 46” / 107cm on diagonal, blocked

Some fibers I dyed with KoolAid.

This Shawl got Blue Ribbon at the County Fair 2010!
