I really enjoyed knitting another shawl by maliha designs, and love the look of mosaic knitting, so here goes. Looking forward to the surprise elements, as it has been ages since I’ve done an MKAL.

Jan 5, 2018: Did a test mosaic swatch with the three colors I was planning to use, but there was not enough difference in value (?) between the gray and the lilac as compared to black and gray.

Looked at some other combinations by photographing them, editing them into B&W, and identifying those that I thought would work.

Will see how this works out: MC1 Red, MC2 Black, AC Gray

Maliha has said the first clue is small so it will be easy to try colors.

Jan 16, 2018 First Clue. Last minute color change, subbing the Astraea in Lilac Veil for the March Hare Sterling--the grey, red, black would have been lovely and class, but the blue-violet, red, black makes me so much happier--the color of a bunch of anemones.

As I knit, I notice that the black is a dark blue-black which goes really well with the red and the blue-violet/

Jan 19, 2018 Second Clue. Reminding myself to be mindful of which side of work I am knitting so that I don’t make an error at the sides and throw off the stitch count. Will go back to using a large marker on the front side.
