Notes

final notes!
Done done! Blocked the cardi and took some pictures of my girl wearing the cardign. I loved doing this project, it was fast, because of the lace pattern there’s some nice variation.

I had some trouble getting gauge. My width was right on, but hight was off. Eventually blocked to exact gauge as indicated in pattern (21x 26). My final measurements were 60 cms (23.6 inch) chest circumference. Length measured from underarm 29 cms or 11.4 inch. Width of the neck was 14 cms or 5,5 inch; I measured the neck at its narrowest point.

I picked up 11 and 4 stitches along the front, 82 stitches in total.

Size is perfect for 6yo. Corresponding with size 116 :)
I used up exactly 4 skeins, which comes down to approx. 450 meters or 500 yards.

17-12 created project page for the lovely Mini Diamond Cardigan pattern. Will knit this in size 6yrs for my eldest girl. I loooove this design so I’m thrilled about it!

Will use Scheepjes Donna, DK weight yarn in a muted gray tone.

Swatching for gauge right now.

18/12 soooo… can’t get gauge for the life of me :’) My stitchwidth is fine, 21 sts. But my hight is off. I’m at 29 stitches in hight when I’m really trying. I’m already on needlesize 4 instead of 3.75.

did 4 rows even to extend for depth of arms. Found that this was enough for average sized girl. Continued pattern in row 5 knit until end. cont unt. row 8, (7 laces repeats) then started pattern at 1 again and knit until end (7 lace repeats) then k1.
knit pattern as written from this point onwards, starting at row 5, k3 at the end. Now decreasing lace repeats.

Love it so far! Looks as if it’ll be a good fit for my girl, very pleased with it thus far.

20/12
Knitting like a maniac :D the more the pattern and shape is coming thru, the more I want to see :D I love it, it looks gorgeous, the yarn is squishy, and did I mention yet that I love the pattern and lace?

22/12
okay so after doing all of the christmas groceries yesterday I finally knitted down to the hem. Did the turning rows and then switched to smaller needles like indicated. I really like how this is turning out. Never did a turned hem before, it looks great! However the hem is still rolling over now, I’ll have to see if blocking can fix that. Pretty sure it will.
