I love bird ornaments for my holiday tree, and love knitted ornaments too. I searched for a pattern that would be just right, but couldn’t find one, so cobbled one together, inspired by several different things I found and my own vision.

Since folks were interested, I went ahead and typed up the pattern notes to share.

I made two of these cute little guys and am very, very happy with them. Each bird takes just under 20 yards of yarn.
