Notes

I DON’T HAVE PATTERN for this hat, so I can not sell or send it to you by e-mail (even if you write me privately)!
My hat is pure experimental. Of course I don’t mind if you want to try it out as well, following (or not) my notes.

Before you start, just remember this:

  1. my head is quite big (59 cm);
  2. my hat has lining (wool);
  3. my hat was felted and blocked on a strict form.

I’ve made many swatches with different yarns for this hat and I’ve found my fit pure coincidentally - by trial and error methods. That is how&why it worked out for me, so I could knit 5 full segments to the very end to achieve a flat top. When using some different yarns and/or having different (head) measurements, - most probably you’ll get stuck somewhere. On your own.
Keep this in mind when swatching! Please make a fair (=big) swatch(es) first!
I’m not (and don’t want to be held) responsible for any DISAPPOINTMENTS that may come out of your experiment!

I have made also a matching Snood.
So it’s a full set.

I like Venezia-chart and I need a new hat, - so let’s call it a handy swatch. CO 180 st (5 x 36 st).

My hat became surprisingly quick knit!

The Cashmere/Merino (Grino) was held double and the Baby Camel/Wool - just as it was.

Weight: 90 100 g. (don’t know the exact meterage yet, but I can always find it out by a little calculations).

Finished, but I don’t like my finishing decision. So, I have to unravel and redo the top-part asap.

What I really do like is the lining! Double hat (+ stranded layers) is exactly what my ears love to have around during our sharp winds in wintery Amsterdam.

New hat top is finished. Washed. Blocked.
During the wash I’ve felted it a bit so my new hat keeps its form (of a toque) by itself now. It is really thick and solid yet quite light.
I love it!
