7/21: FINISHED! And I’m in love. It turned out not as big and loose as I thought it was going to, so I’m glad I upped my sizing! The back knit up beautifully and it turned out awesome!
I added 4 rows of single crochet to the bottom to weight it down and stop it from curling and I love the way it looks. Perfect solution to the curling problem!
7/15: PROBLEM! There is a big problem with the armhole BO row - the patterns tells you to work two St st rows next to each other, which is why so many of the FOs show a line in the pattern right across the boobs. Or, if you work a RS row where it is, your pattern switches from the RS to the WS.
So I followed the pattern perfectly through the armhole row, cut my yarn, slid my needles back through the front stitches, and reattached my yarn so the next row I work is a RS row across the front of the top.
You can also end your pattern on a Round 2 instead of a Round 1 and work your BOs on a lace pattern row. This is a little more challenging but you’ll end up in the right spot after the BOS, by working a WS row on the WS.
7/7: Added 2” of pre-armhole BO rib for a total of 4” extra length from what the pattern states. That should do it!
6/30: Hindu Pillar stitch is a bitch. It’s beautiful but MAN, what a pain in the ass.
6/21: Finished with my linen rib stitch and it totally grew on me! Really love how it looks.
6/20: Finished the checker board stitch section! Looking awesome.
6/7: Finished my first band, with 2” extra length.
6/3: Making the cellular stitch section 2” longer than the pattern suggests, and I’m 2” in.
5/19: Gauge is OFF. 32 sts works out but the 16 is about 3/4” short of the 4”. I’m losing 7” for my own size, so I guess I’ll just add 7 to 36 and round up, to get a 44” tank size. (no math was used in the execution of this formula)
5/15: Will be checking my gauge and picking a final size soon - no elastic in the yarn so I’m upping the size I’ll need to get it to lay pretty and not tight. Guessing 38 but might go one more.
