I find the larger needle sizes easier to work with when knitting this type of yarn. Shorter needles are also less apt to get snagged in the yarn than longer needles, but a short (16”) bamboo circular is my preferred option. (No slipping, no snagging.)

I made the 4 stitch wide version of this scarf. There is a tendency for the cast-on edge to flair out significantly more than the cast-off edge with this type of yarn, so I compensate for that by casting on only 2 stitches to start, working those 2 stitches for 2 or 3 rows, and then increasing to 4 stitches for the remainder of the scarf. While the scarf was very pretty and the yarn knit up about the same as other ruffle yarns I have used, I was ultimately very disappointed. This scarf was knit by request, and within a week it was returned to me for repair because it had started to unravel. This was not due to any dropped stitch or error in the knitting, but because threads along the knitted edge had snapped. I was able to repair it with needle and thread, but I have to wonder how much use the scarf will withstand before it happens again. (Similar scarves made with Sashay three years earlier and worn frequently are still in perfect condition, so I feel I should be able to expect the same from Filigree, especially given that both yarns are from the same brand.)
