10/12/14- Started bottom-up body piece. Hoping that medium is correct size, gauge is always a difficult thing for me to get right. Somehow I have the exact gauge for this project when I am generally a noticeably loose knitter.
10/21/14- Finished body piece up to where yolk will begin. Concerned about button-hole spacing but it’s pretty close (I think?!). Convention of measuring length by hanging the piece is not something I am good at yet. Starting sleeves, trying to figure out mods to make them long-sleeve.
10/31/2014- Finished first sleeve up to where yolk will begin. Spent a great deal of time figuring out mods (see below), which was largely based on this pattern.
11/1/2014- Finished second sleeve in a quick burst.
11/7/2014- Finished yolk, bind-off, and weaving in yarn ends. Will wait until Thanksgiving to pick some buttons at home, but in the mean time the sweater is just a bit too big everywhere except the bust. Also a little on the short side. Probably should have made a size S, oh well. It’s not worth frogging; I’ll find something to do with it.
1/9/2015- Finally bought buttons, blocked, and sewed buttons on. It is so comfy, fits well, and I love it overall!
Mods:
-
Sleeve cuffs in moss st instead of garter st
-
Full-length sleeves: CO 38 sts with US 7 dp needles. Place marker at beginning of round. Work 6 rounds moss stitch. Work stockinette st until piece measures 40 cm in length. Increases: When piece measures 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32, and 36 cm, inc 1 st each time on both sides of marker = 54 sts. When piece measures 40 cm, BO 4 sts on each side of marker = 46 sts. Put aside to connect to body piece.
