Notes

Testing these Bunny Slippers for Two Girls Patterns, doing a steampunk version for Nerd Wars. It’s a great pattern.

Took me three times to get the faces right (my design ineptness, nothing to do with the pattern), bottom two pics are of the versions that weren’t right. Those fat tails take a lot of Glamour, too. The worsted weight yarn was a kind of steel-purple I had in my stash, no wrapper or tag.

Tip: When working the bottom of a slipper pattern that asks you to work both sides of the beginning chain, work in the back bump of the chain on the way up the chain (easier to hit) and then you’ll have a regular crochet V-stitch to work into on the way back down.

Team Tie-in:
This is Lefty and Bob, the steampunk bunny slippers. Since steampunk has been described as “goggles, gears, and corsets,” I gave these bunnies goggles and then added gears for bunny cheeks. In addition, there are steam engines in their tails, which is why they need those shiny silver wheels.
