Notes

12/29/12 - So I finished the hat band, including a successful Kitchener! And although I made it exactly the length the pattern indicated for my daughter’s head measurement, it’s too big. So, I’m undoing the graft and the last cable pattern repeat.

12/29/30 - I am going to run out of yarn, I think. Rather annoying, since the whole reason i started this project was to use up a leftover skein from a previous project. But I dont’ want to take short cuts on the decreases either, so I’ll just keep knitting according to the pattern, and see how it goes! I’m on the k5, k2tog row.

1/2/13 - Just waiting for my first attempt at blocking to dry. I used hair conditioner to try to cut down on the itchiness of the yarn, as recommended by people who commented on the Rav yarn listing. Thanks so much for the tips!

1/11/13 - The hat turned out beautifully. I did skip the plain knitted rounds after doing the k2tog, k5 row, and managed to finish without running out of yarn. My only problem is that although I made the band smaller than recommended for my daughter’s head measurement, it turned out way too big for her. In fact, it fits me! Maybe it’s the floppy yarn? Oh well.
