Many thanks to AFwifeCrochetNut’s, now SaturatedLifeCro Rainbow Ripple Baby Blankets and her explanation of the “rule of 5” for getting a ripple effect in these blankets. Using the explanation alongside her wonderful photographs helped me understand. Once I understood how the ripple effect was worked it was super simple.

I finished this blanket off with a row of single crochet stitches (crocheting three stitches into each point) and then crocheting a row of slip stitches all the way around. I like the clean, non-fussy edge - especially for a boy’s blanket.
