Knitting: Tee
This little cotton shirt was inspired by some of my favorite sewing patterns! I’m always impressed by the simple yet beautiful shapes and colors and fabrics I see in Japanese sewing books. My knit version combines crisp cotton and a soft color to make a pretty little textured blouse to go with all those pretty little summer skirts.
Knitting: Cardigan
Here’s a combination of a classic yoke shape and stranded color-work with an undated finish. As you work from the top down you’ll progress through 3 bands of color which are nestled between 3 rounds of increases resulting in a classic round yoke. A steek paves the way for a zipper and the short sleeves make this a great layering piece for those ...
Knitting: Cardigan
Wintersweet is a top-down yoke design with a pretty trimmed collar and folded cuffs. A versatile cardigan with a slight A-line shape that sits well over a dress or something more casual. My version has dainty embroidered snowflakes dancing around the yoke but you could choose flowers or stars or nothing at all. Either way you’ll love the s...
Knitting: Tee
This little smock is my knit version of a little gathered blouse which is one of my very favorite garments to sew for a little girl.
Knitting: Pullover
What’s not to love… a cabled beauty with a raglan shape. This roomy pullover offers the knitter a classic bottom-up, in the round, cabled project with lots of detail along with careful planning to bring it all together smoothly and sweetly. For the lucky recipient there’s the warmth of wool combined with plenty of embossed hugs...
Knitting: Scarf
I’ve always been fascinated with complex twisted stitch patterns. Normally worked in the round to avoid having to work crossings on wrong side rows, these beautifully meandering stitches leave behind the impression of embossed designs on old parchment. I couldn’t help but challenge myself to design an oversized scarf with these rich textures eve...
Knitting: Cardigan
So many of the little dresses I’ve sewn for my girls over the years have had square necklines so I decided to let this raglan keep its inherent character by not shaping the neckline at all. Just cast on the required number of stitches, work some easy garter stitch trim, and start shaping the raglan seams. You will be rewarded with a classi...
Knitting: Cardigan
The Lily Cardigan is a simple top-down V-neck cardigan and is slightly fitted in the waist. Dainty picot trim at the hem and cuffs add a little polish. The front ties are worked in to the final front edge bind off for simple finishing.
Knitting: Pullover
My youngest son has had a fascination with fish since he was a toddler. I guess it was only a matter of time before I ended up trying to combine his love of fish with my love of knitting.
Knitting: Pullover
Just imagine, a sweater even teenager will wear! Who knew orange was so popular? Soft, cool cotton and a relaxed fit make this a great all season pullover. An easy twist stitch means you won’t need a cable needle.
Knitting: Baby Blanket
New babies are very special and their first blankets should be too. I know I still have
Knitting: Pullover
Everyone has a favorite sweatshirt or pullover. The one that’s soft and worn in just right. Let’s add a little girl power to that favorite pullover with a scoop neckline and a slightly fitted waist. Pretty picots edge the sleeves and bottom hem.
Knitting: Coat / Jacket
Knit from the top down, this raglan coat is easier than it appears. Even the seed stitch borders are built into the body so there will be very little finishing and there are no button holes. A long A-line fit makes it a great choice to wear with dresses and jumpers. The optional embroidery is made up of basic stitches that anybody can do.*
Knitting: Pullover
The ever-classic raglan is still one of my favorite sweater styles to knit and to wear. The raglan shaping lends itself to the roomy fit that growing kids need. A single band at the hem, cuffs, and neck is just enough to add a little color to this classic style.
Knitting: Scarf
Keeping the little ones warm is top priority in the cold months but they don’t want to have anything to do with all that bundling up. Here’s a shortcut to keeping the cold air off little heads and necks. Put it on like a hood, give it a quick wrap and pull on a coat over top. You’ve got a hat they can’t lose and a scarf that the cold can’t find ...
