Yarn held double throughout. Pick a worsted weight at the same gauge or two different colored fingering weight yarns held together for a unique color blend hat.

I have a big head and a lot of hair. This hat came about by needing a hat that actually covered my head as opposed to sit on top of it. I also knit this with fingering weight yarn held double. I especially like the color play possible when using two different colors of yarn. However worsted weight yarn would work just as well.

Slouchy hats don’t really suit me, I find they’re too deep for my head. Enter the Fountain hat, it’s got slouch to spare but it’s not much deeper than a normal hat. It’s infinitely variable and uses only 220 yards so it’s stashbusty to boot.
