This simple hat is knit in the round starting at the brim. Three sizes are available (newborn, 3-6 months, and 6-12 months), but the pattern can be adjusted for additional sizes (e.g., premie, toddler).

Pattern is beginner level requiring the following stitches: knit (k), purl (p), slip stitch with yarn in back (sl 1 wyib), slip stitch with yarn in front (sl 1 wyif). All slip stitches are done purlwise.

The blanket is worked in the round with circular needles from the outside in. This is a fun way to knit because as you near the center the rounds proceed faster and faster. Start with at least 36” circular needles or two sets of at least 16” circular needles. Change to double-pointed needles when necessary.
