Crochet: Animal Toy
This little manatee uses very little yarn, works up quickly, and ends up about four inches long when made with worsted weight yarn and a 4mm hook. I used 8mm safety eyes, but you can use embroidery or applique for the eyes if you prefer. The fins, muzzle, and body are all crocheted separately and then sewn together. If you have any questions wh...
Crochet: Earrings
You can use this pattern to make yourself a pair of lemon earrings, or just a tiny lemon! They use very very little yarn, don’t really need stuffing (the yarn tails are usually more than enough to be the stuffing) and work up extremely quickly (6 rounds for the lemon, 1 row for the leaf)

This pattern uses far less than a skein each of a worsted weight yarn and a fluffy yarn like Snuggle Up by Yarn Bee or, my favorite, Caribou by HiKoo. The fluffy yarn and the worsted weight yarn and are held double and crocheted inside out for maximum fluffiness while still retaining enough structure (thanks to the worsted yarn) that it’s not t...

A free pattern for a small crocheted pea pod! I saw other patterns for peas in a pod out there, but I wanted something quicker, so I wrote my own. The peas only have 5 rounds each and the pod is only 6 rounds, so it works up super quickly and uses very little yarn. The example was made with worsted weight yarn and a 4mm hook, but you could easi...

This pattern can be used to make a crow, a phoenix, or a peacock. The crow uses only worsted weight yarn, but the phoenix and the peacock use fun fur yarn in the tails for fluffiness.

This pattern as written makes a dreidel about six inches tall that can actually spin! You’ll need less than one skein of Hometown USA, and some scraps of worsted weight yarn in a contrasting color to do the embroidery.

Mini Cthulhu stands about two inches tall when made in worsted weight yarn, and uses two 8mm eyes. The tentacles are crocheted as you are crocheting the head, not sewed on, and curl on their own.

Basket the Fish came to me in a dream, literally! I had a dream that my neighbor had a cute stuffed animal named Basket the Fish, and I woke up and scribbled a drawing so I could remember the design.

Void Cat is crocheted mostly in one piece, with only the ears and tail to sew. Both yarns are held together while crocheting; the Red Heart can be substituted for any worsted weight yarn, but the Caribou yarn can only be replaced by a similar thin fake fur yarn. Every fake fur yarn seems to claim to be bulky yarn, but some aren’t. Go For Faux w...

This pattern makes a happy little pill just over an inch long, and requires two colors of worsted or aran weight yarn. It’s a very simple pattern that works up very quickly and uses a tiny amount of yarn, but getting the backs on the safety eyes can be tricky.

This pattern has details to turn it into Marie Kondo as pictured, but you can use it as a base to make many different characters!
Crochet: Animal Toy
This little llama works up very quickly, standing about three inches tall. Gauge is not important, as long as no stuffing escapes.

A tiny axolotl, or axolittle, if you will. This pattern is available for free on my tumblr, or you can support me by purchasing it on Ravelry and help me make more patterns!
Crochet: Animal Toy
To make your bee friend, you’ll need small amounts of any worsted weight yarn in yellow and black, and the yarn bee yarn in white. Any other thin furry yarn would work, but that’s the only one I’ve seen so far.

Make your own velociraptor friend!

Some yarn notes! I used Vanna’s Choice for the body, but pretty much any worsted weight yarn should work fine. Lighter ww yarns, like Caron Simply Soft, might work up a little small and make placing the eyes difficult, though. I used the Caribou yarn for the tail and it is awesome. I don’t think eyelash yarns would have the same effect, but you...
