Yak Fingering

Gobsmacked

A light, low twist yarn with three plies: two a natural medium brown, the other a natural cream colour. The result is a fluffy, tweedy yarn that takes a range of muted hues with brighter pops of colour from the lighter ply.
This yarn is lofty and drapey, with very little spring-- more like alpaca than sheep’s wool. It also has a distinctive but not unpleasant yak scent when damp, reminding us that, yes, indeed, this comes from an animal!
Please note that although I originally tagged this as a light fingering, it does plump up to a fingering weight after it’s had a good soak and dry.
