Washing Instructions for the Yarn:
If your Colored Share skeins came twisted and ready to be wound, you don’t need to do a thing except wind them and knit.

If your Colored Share skeins came attached to a zip tie, please follow the instructions below. The yardage is exactly the same for both options, and the letter only varied in the addition of the paragraphs about fulling.

“Dear Colored Flock CSA Shareholder,

I am super-excited to be shipping out our very first Juniper Moon Farm Colored CSA shares! As you know, we’ve all been waiting for this yarn ever since our Spring Shearing back in May and I am please to announce that it was well worth the wait. The color is absolutely gorgeous!

In order to get the yarn out to you as quickly as possible, we are sending it to you “un-fulled”. Basically, the yarn is spun at a very low humidity and then shipped to us that way to say on freight costs. All it needs is a quick soak in a sink full of warm water to bloom into all its glory. While it’s hanging to dry over night, you can start picking out patterns!

To facilitate the fulling process, we are shipping your yarn un-twisted and held together with zip ties. The zip ties make soaking the yarn much easier; just use them to handle the yarn when getting it into and out of the bath, and leave them in place until the yarn is dry. Then you can simply snip the zip tie and wind your yarn as usual.

Each shareholder is receiving 6, 200 yard skeins of yarn as your dividend for the 2012 Shearing. Please do let us know what this yarn becomes- it is very special and precious to us.

Wishing you a joyful holiday season with plenty of time to knit and crochet!
